Performing a Late Sync

Performing a Late Sync

You are probably visiting this page because you received the following pop-up:
Late Sync Popup
Explanation
When our belt is in use, it stores all of your session data in its memory. However, like the hard-drive on your phone or laptop, there is a limit to how much data the sensor can hold (for the sensor this value is obviously very small). Therefore each time the belt receives a command to begin a new session, it erases its memory and overwrites it. This is the reason you are receiving this pop-up.

Our app wants to ensure that the when syncing the session that it is grabbing the correct data from the sensor.

Imagine a situation where you, the coach, run a session with your team on Monday, and Player A does not sync. Player A then runs another session on Tuesday with another team, or by themselves using the Beyond Pulse for Players App. On Wednesday, your team returns to train and you attempt a late sync for Player A. Your original Monday session will be erased from the sensor memory and it will be re-written with the Tuesday session data. Thus when you perform a late sync on Wednesday you will be gathering the data from Tuesday and not the Monday session you intended to sync.

So this pop-up is intended to simply make you the coach aware to double check that your player has not performed another session so you can ensure the data you are gathering from the sensor is the actual data of the appropriate session.

What happens if you sync incorrect data?
Let's use the same example of Player A from above. When your team returns to training on Wednesday you perform the late sync for Player A from your Monday session, however Player A recorded a session Tuesday and that data is now being synced incorrectly. In this case, the data should still sync, however it will be fit to the original start and end time of the Monday session. So if Monday session was 90 minutes in length, and the Tuesday Session of Player A was 120 minutes, only the first 90 minutes of the session will display for that user. Likewise if the Tuesday session was 45 minutes, then half the session will appear missing. This is relevant because it may increase the chance of getting N/A values for Player A.

To Perform a Late Sync:
1. Return to the App.
2. Click continue.
**Note make sure you are close to the belt which has not synced**
